Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute was inaugurated by Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the First Prime Minister of India on 10th April, 1954.CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. At the beginning of 2011, the Institute has around 360 staff with 150 S&T staff on its roll and around 250 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme.

Category III:

- Desirable: Candidates who have working experience in the field of catalysis/ materials chemistry/synthetic organic chemistry for the synthesis of fine/specialty chemicals/new materials with good publication record are desirable. Candidates who have also worked on biomass and CO2 related chemical transformations are also desirable.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will involve in the project and pursue the following activities in the five year plan of CSIR-CSMCRI.
- Catalytic transformation for fine and speciality chemicals.
- Biomass to chemicals.
- CO2 value addition by making chemicals.
- Developing novel adsorbents for CO2 capture.
- H2 storage materials.
- Polymer nano composites for diverse applications.
- Recovery of valuables from electronic waste.
